We only use such information to provide you with the best of the search results as well as to inform you about the safety level (as per our criteria) of each URL.

Apart from your Search Term, we do not access or demand your personal information. Except for an instance, where you provide your information for the purpose of communication. You may ask us to remove/update this information by contacting our customer support at

3. How is your data shared?

Web Guard Plus shares your search term to the third party search result provider that helps to provide you with the best and relevant search results page. We do not share the data from the search results page.

4. What permissions do we require?

Web Guard Plus requires your permission to override the search to provide you with the best search results with a safer browsing experience by accessing, examining, and alarming you about the URLs on a search result page. To provide a better search and safe browsing please allow these permissions upon request:

chrome.tabs API is used to communicate with the browser’s tab system to access the active URL to analyze it towards our robust mechanism in the background to recognize if the domain is blacklisted, safe or unsafe for you.

webRequest : The "webReqauest" API is used to perceive and examine all the URLs on the web so that a blacklisted URL can instantly be blocked.

webRequestBlocking : We require additional permission to use this API as a blocking mechanism.

These permissions enable the tool to identify and block malicious websites for you.

5. Applicable Legal Principles

The processing of your personal data is based on the following legal principles:

  • of Article 6 (1) GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing operations for which your consent has been obtained.
  • of Article 6 (1) GDPR is the legal basis for data processing to fulfill our services, to carry out contractual arrangements, and to answer inquiries.
  • of Article 6 (1) GDPR applies as far as we need to process your personal data to fulfill our legal obligations.

6. Children :

We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information collected online from children under the age of 13, except to the extent that the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act permits us to collect and maintain such information without parental consent.

8. Processing of Personal Data When you Get in Touch with us:

When you get in touch with us by phone, email, or contact form, we will store the information you provided based on point (a) of Article 6 (1) GDPR. The purpose here is to answer your questions and to process your request.

We will store our conversation in order to be able to prove it happened to comply with legal requirements. The personal data communicated will be deleted when the respective conversation is finished, the situation has been settled and/ or if archiving your data is not necessary for legally indispensable reasons.
